Whenever you organise a cruise, travel insurance should be an essential part of the booking process. Some cruise operators, such as P&O Cruises, have made insurance mandatory and most others, as well as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, strongly recommend that travel insurance is taken out before departure.

If you’ve had difficulty getting cruise insurance cover due to your age or medical conditions, then AllClear could help. You can compare multiple quotes from various cruise providers in one place and getting a quote online is quick and easy.

What’s more, AllClear’s cruise travel insurance products have no age limits for both single or annual multi-trip insurance. We can offer a quote for cruise medical travel insurance in 98% of cases, covering over 1300 different medical conditions.

If you are taken ill on a cruise ship you could potentially incur huge medical bills if, for example, you had to be transferred to the mainland by helicopter, or even transported home. That’s why our travel insurance for cruises covers you for up to £15 million medical expenses and repatriation.

Added cruise insurance benefits*

Extended cancellation cover

A cruise can be the 'trip of a lifetime' so, with higher trip costs per person, you’ll want to make sure your cruise insurance provides adequate cover just in case you have to cancel. You never know what's around the corner so it pays to protect the money you've invested in your cruise holiday as soon as you can. Our cruise providers offer cancellation cover up to £7,500 per person, plus with some providers you can purchase additional cover up to a maximum of £25,000.

Cabin confinement

If you fall ill while on your cruise, the ships medical officer may confine you to your cabin to avoid the illness spreading to other passengers. With AllClear, you’ll receive compensation of £100* per day (up to £1000) with no excess to pay. We know it could be frustrating if, due to your cabin confinement, you’re unable to use your pre-booked excursions, so you’ll also be covered for up to £500.

Itinerary change

In the event of a missed port due to your cruise ship having to cancel part of the itinerary because of adverse weather or timetable restrictions, you’ll be covered for £100 per port up to £500 and no excess is payable.

Cruise interruption

If you require treatment in a hospital on dry land due to injury or illness, and the hospital confirms you are well enough to re-join the cruise, you’ll be covered up to £1000 in any additional travel expenses incurred to re-join your cruise at the next port.

*Subject to excesses, limits and policy restrictions. Please check your individual policy booklet.
